Hi guys,

I don’t know about you but I am rubbish at applying false lashes and start sweating just thinking about applying them to my eyes but I want the look that they create in respect to long beautiful lashes so I either apply them badly or apply loads of mascara until I have the desired effect. Another option is eyelash serums... If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter then you have probably noticed my little updates about this Flash Eyelash Serum* ($45) that promises to make your lashes look fuller, sexier, curlier and longer. I have been using this for 3 months now, as suggested, and I can notice a difference. I was actually quite shocked as I wanted this product to fail as I don't tend to believe all the hype surrounding eyelash serums but this was a great product. For one, my lashes have become longer and they seem to look fuller too when looking at them from a downward focus, especially at the edges where my lashes seem to be a little sparse. I have always been lucky enough to have longish lashes when I apply coatings of mascara but sometimes I want to go natural and still have long beautiful lashes and that’s where this serum comes in. It is so easy to apply, it’s like a liquid eyeliner so you just apply to your upper lash line and leave it for a couple of minutes until it dries and then go about your day. At first I was using this at night time as a last step to my skincare routine but after I felt it working, I applied on days where I was going makeup free. This is super easy to use, it’s very conditioning and is very quick drying.

Side Effects: None. I honestly thought I would have some sort of irritation as my eyes are quite sensitive, like the rest of my skin, but I was pleasantly surprised at this. There was no itching, no redness and certainly no puffiness which was great.

If you want longer, sexier, curlier lashes then I would hand on heart recommend this serum. It kept my lashes super soft and helped them to look a little better and it also gave me the confidence to rock natural lashes.

I thought I would talk about the beautiful Eye of Horus Liquid Metal Liner (£16.50) in the shade Copper Sphinx today on Beauty Talk With Lauren as the metallic hue just shone out plus I am loving copper shades at the moment. Eye of Horus are an Australian brand that are really making a name for themselves and make products that are cruelty free, wax and oil based and promise not to irritate even the most sensitive of eyes.  

This gorgeous eyeliner is cruelty, nut, paraben and gluten free and illuminates different tones depending on the light. It promises to be long wearing and smudge proof, phrases I can agree with after wearing almost every day. The nib does create a flawless wing but don't use the end of the brush to dispense the product to your lash line as it wont work. I turn the brush on its side and push it onto my lash line so that the liner actually stands out (See above image when only using the end of the brush). At first I was applying 2 coats to my lash line as I just couldn't figure out how to get this gorgeous product on my eye but after using it a few times and finally perfecting it, it looked flawless. 

I love the colour of this eyeliner, its unlike anything else i have tried, and I do love the fact that it stays put all day without any smudging or irritation. It adds a beautiful shimmer to your eye without being overly dramatic, so it would be ideal for working in an office to just jazz up your eyes a little and to help you step away from the norm. I've actually been wearing mine to work and I love the fact that my makeup looks subtle enough to be deemed suitable for the workplace!

How are you today? If you read my recent haul post then you will know I picked up the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation ($35) in the shade Light 45 from Sephora. It was £24.20 but with other items including the Shade and Light Palette ($46) and the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20) in shade Outlaw the total came to £99. The shipping, duties and taxes alone were £29!! So if you don’t have a Sephora near you and decide that you want to buy any Kat Von D products or anything from Sephora, then I would suggest pitching in with some friends and splitting the cost of the shipping.

Anyway, let’s get onto the most important thing eh, the review. I was desperate to try this as I heard so many great things from the American bloggers and youtubers. I wasn’t too sure on what shade to buy but settled on Light 45 and it turned out to be the perfect shade for me. They have 19 different shades so there is something for everyone.

The formula is very thick; it is a silicone based foundation that offers high pigmentation and full coverage. Trust me when I say that this is full coverage as it will literally cover everything. I never usually go for full coverage foundations as I am always scared that my skin will look cakey or fake but this one works. I use one pump only and blend out with my Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush (£15.70) or a damp Beauty Blender (£16) and find that it blends out perfectly and leaves my skin beautifully matte. 

KVD is paraben, oil and fragrance free and works with all skin types. I personally have oily skin with the odd dry patch and haven’t noticed it sliding off my face nor stick to my dry patches, however I do use the Mario Badescu Rose Facial Spray before applying the foundation as well as the Nivea Post Shave Balm to give me added hydration and then give a final spritz of MB when I have applied my make up, so this sucker is not going to move.

All in all, a mighty fine foundation that gives the most amazing finish. It is super pigmented, easy to blend out and doesn’t irritate my skin.

It Cosmetics seems to be the brand of the moment doesn’t it? I swear, all I’ve noticed on social media is It Cosmetics this and It Cosmetics that so I decided to see what all the fuss was about and pick up the CC+ Eye SPF50 Color Correcting Concealer ($29).

First things first, let’s get all the jargon out the way and tell you what they promise with this concealer. This is a paraben and chemical free anti-aging full coverage eye treatment that is infused with blurring pigments to instantly brighten your entire eye area while protecting your skin with SPF 50+. It also contains a hydrating anti-aging serum as well as acting as a colour corrector. The concealer comes with a cooling spoon applicator which helps smooth out the product whilst cooling the under eye area. As if that wasn’t enough they are also a cruelty free company.

Now for my thoughts. This is a great little product. It is easy to apply, it isn’t thick so it blends out beautifully, it really does brightens my under eye area as well as correct the blue tones. Now my skin has gotten considerably better ever since I cut out some skincare products and started using the Shadeen 27 serum and moisturiser but my skin looks flawless after applying this. I usually conceal my under eyes but I like to add a little to my highlight points such as my nose, forehead, cupids bow and chin and it does a bang up job. I don’t know if you know this but I am a huge Nikki Tutorials fan and when I saw her using the Nivea Post Shave Balm (RRP £5.29) as a primer I was taken aback but knew I had to buy it. I couldn’t believe that such a product would be used like this as it’s a product for men. But think about it, why wouldn’t it work? It contains Chamomile and Vitamin E which helps to sooth irritated skin, calm down redness and help with dry skin. It also has 0% alcohol so it’s perfect for us sensitive folk.

First things first, it’s the cheapest primer I have ever bought that wasn’t actually a primer, I think I paid £2.63 for this as Superdrug were having a sale on certain products but more importantly, it bloody well works! The smell is a little weird at first, but I love men’s products as they smell amazing but once this is worked into the skin, the smells disappears. The product is not as thick as I thought it would be, it does run ever so slightly but its manageable, it’s not like Mac Face and Body (the only ridiculously watery product I could think of) which literally runs off the back of my hand. It’s just a little more lighter than my holy grail Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer (£29) which is actually very light. Once it’s worked in, it goes a little tacky, which I like, it instantly smoothes my skin and makes my foundation glide on like liquid velvet. I also found my make up to last that little bit longer than normal and I also didn’t get as oily as I usually do, I don’t know why because it’s not meant to control oil but I loved that aspect of it.

To say this is a great primer is an understatement! I love how easy it is to use, how well it makes my foundation look and also the fact that I haven’t had any breakouts whilst trying this out. As per usual, as soon as I bought it, I noticed I had already had little samples of this in my bathroom cupboard that Liam forgot to use ha! I love this product as a primer and I think it will be a firm favourite of mine from now on.
