My June Favourites

Luminous Silk
Mac Makeup
Good Things Deep Clean Blackhead Exfoliator, Original Source Lime, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, Mac Pro Longwear Concealer, Mac Extra Dimension Fiery Impact and Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Naked 2
Hey guys,

I thought I would do a favourites post this month and show you what I have been loving. There isn’t much tbh as I haven’t fallen in love with a lot of products recently but I have rediscovered a few oldies.

1. Good Things Anti Blemish Lotion and the Blackhead Exfoliator – You can find a full review here. I know Good Things aren't particularly a go to brand but I just love these products. I find that my skin just operates better when I use them so I will continue to do so.

2. Armani Luminous Silk Foundation #2 (£36) - This is by far one of the best foundations I have used. As the name would suggest, this gives a very subtle glow to the skin. It glides on beautifully, doesn't look cakey at all and lasts for a good 8 to 10 hours on my face. Don’t get me wrong I do have to touch up my under eyes but that’s probably the concealer more than the foundation. If you apply a good primer and a setting spray, you will get good wear out of this. Perfect for dry/normal skin.

3. Original Source Lime Shower Gel - Well as you know, I love anything citrus scented so I was obviously going to like this. Perfect shower gel for the morning to wake you up. It’s very zingy and I love it.

4. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Naked2 & Native (£15) – These are creamy, hydrating and pigmented lipsticks which I have been using quite a lot. I just feel with all of the revolution lipsticks in the urban decay range that they are so hydrating. Naked 2 is just the perfect nude for me and perfect for the day time or in the evening with a really smoked out eye and Native is a subtle pink that is perfect for any occasion.

5. Mac Extra Dimension Blush in Fiery Impact - This is a dark blush, more so than I am used to as I am either a pinky or peachy kinda girl but I don't know, I just felt like buying this at the time and then forgot all about it until the end of May. I don't know why I stopped using this as it is gorgeous, it is a dark coral which would suit all skintones. I blend this into my contour if I’m in that kind of a mood but if not then I just brush over the apples of my cheeks and bobs yer uncle. Definite keeper! Sadly this was discontinued :(

6. Mac Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20 (£17.50) - I stopped using this as I felt it was a little heavy but I obviously have no idea what I was talking about as its bloody amazing! I’ve been using this nonstop and absolutely love it. It stays on for hours and I only need to touch up once throughout the day. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who notices any creasing under their eyes when using other concealers as I haven't had that problem at all.

Let me know in the comments what your favourites are this month.

Summer Series | Lipsticks

Summer

Hi Guys

I thought I would put together a little beauty based summer series where I talk about 3 particular items I wear all through summer. I am going to start off with lipsticks as everyone loves a bit of lippy.

1. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Native - My most used lipstick of the moment. This is the perfect creamy, hydrating shade which is perfect for summer. It has the perfect amount of pink in it for those summer days when you are at the beach, having a picnic with friends or simply enjoying your local beer garden. You will not have any smearing or bleeding with this lipstick but you will find it very hydrating and long lasting.

2. Limecrime Lipstick in Geradium - This is a bright matte pink! I love rocking this if a nice summer’s day turns into an impromptu late night out with friends in one of our local hotspots. It’s also great if you are going for a neutral eye and want your lips to be the main focus. It lasts for a very long time on the lips and there is no smearing or bleeding at all with this one either.

3. YSL Rouge Pur Couture Golden Lustre Lipstick in #109 Corail Dor - This looks bright in the packaging but it goes on very sheer so this is perfect for those days when you don’t want a full lip and only want a dab of colour.

Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Glow Boost Serum

Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Glow Boost Serum
Superfacialist by Una Brennan

Hi guys,

I know the Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Glow Boost Serum (£15.99) has probably been reviewed so many times but I thought I would give my two cents as I have been using it for a little while now. I have been using this product for nearly 2 months and I have to say it is quite nice. The texture of this product is more of a light moisturiser rather than the typical serum we have come to know and love. It also has a light orange scent to it and I have to admit, has left my skin looking more radiant than usual.

This little guys is packed with a combination of Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and a skin lightening algae extract. The serum aims to replenish, boost collagen and enhance the appearance of skin. According to the brand if you use this for 3+ weeks you will see a difference in your face, so far I can agree with this as I have noticed my skin is more radiant and healthier looking.

I only use this in the morning as I want my skin to look healthy throughout the day. I apply a pea sized amount and work into my skin after the toner step. After it has dried, which takes seconds, I then apply a light moisturiser before applying primer and makeup.

I can’t say this is a must have product or that my skin has all of a sudden become perfect but I have found it to be great for adding glow back into my skin. If you have a dull complexion due to partying too hard, having too many late nights in front of a laptop or phone then this is for you. If you have only had a couple hours sleep and look like shit the following day, this will not, I repeat, NOT work miracles ha-ha.

Let me know what your favourite serums are. Do you always buy drugstore or does it have to be high-end before you see a difference?

Updated Skincare Routine

Skincare

Hi guys,

I have been plagued by cysts around my jawline as well as the odd whitehead and blemish on my chin for a few months now and every product I tried worked for a little while and then nothing. So I thought I would strip it back to the bare minimum to find out if I am allergic to certain products or if it’s just a case of my skin being too sensitive.

I completely changed my routine to just 3 items in the morning and in the evening whereas I was more used to between 5-8 products which in hindsight, seems a bit much. I wouldn’t say this routine has completely changed my skin but it has helped a little so I thought I would share them with you.

Current AM Routine:

1. Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm (£38) I rub a pea sized amount into my skin and wash off with a face cloth.
2. Deep Pore Anti Blemish Lotion (£4.99) Soak a cotton pad and rub all over my face in upwards motions.
3. Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Glow Boost Skin Serum (£15.99) I use a tiny bit of this and rub into my skin gently.
4. Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser (£1.29) I just use a small amount and really work this into my skin.

Current PM Routine:

1. I use the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm to remove my makeup and then the Good Things Blackhead Exfoliator (£4.99) as a double cleanse and exfoliation step.
2. Deep Pore Anti Blemish Lotion. Soak a cotton pad and rub all over my face in upwards motions.

3. Olay Essential Night Cream (£4.89) I don’t layer moisturiser on as it ends up sitting on top of the skin and doesn’t do anything, so I only pop a small amount on my face and rub in gently.

My Top Ten YouTube Channels

Youtube

Hi guys...

I love a YouTube sesh as much as the next person and I must have about 30 odd subscriptions to people’s channels whether it be beauty, cooking, vegan, baking or fashion channels. I just love em!

So I thought I would put a top 10 together of all the channels I go to first for updates over any other channels. These are in no particular order, I just went down my channel list and picked from there.

1. The Another Girls Life - Mary is such a brilliant vlogger, I recently heard about her through Beauty Crush. I love her approach to her videos and her honest opinion. She is the funniest girl ever, she says it how it is and I love that she is real. There isnt an online persona to appeal to the masses like most youtubers out there. Her vlogs are definitely my favourite though.
2. Essie Button - Who doesn’t love Essie? She is just so down to earth and her vlogs are always entertaining. She is great at incorporating everything that she loves including books, beauty, non-beauty, fashion and making you want everything she has reviewed. I adore Aslan (bf) and Reggie (dog) too as they add so much to her vlogs.
3. Vivianna Does Make Up - Anna knows her stuff, seriously, she is amazing. I always take her reviews very seriously as she doesn’t just give her reviews on the hyped up products but rather everything including high end and drugstore. Her vlogs are also amazing, her & Mark (bf) are always very funny.
4. Zoella - With 5million subscribers this girl is obviously doing something right! She is just too cute for words and is always on top form. I feel she is very squeeky clean though, something I wish she would shake off sometimes and give us her honest to God feelings. Still love her though.
5. Jaclyn Hill - What an amazing makeup artist. She is well versed on all things beauty and she sells the shit out of all the products she uses! My credit card always takes a battering after watching her favourite’s videos!!!
6. Nicole Guerriero - This girl is just excellent. She was the first American youtuber I watched so I head to her channel straight away. She knows her stuff, I trust her judgement, plus she says exactly what she feels.
7. Tanya Burr - Tanya is just like Zoella in the sense she is always in a good mood, very bubbly and makes you want more. I love all of her videos but her make up tutorials are always sublime!
8. Lustre Lux - I have only started watching this young lass as she is new to the you tube world but I have to say, there is not one video I don't like. I feel she is getting better & better in each video.
9. Casey Holmes - Absolutely love this girl. Her eye makeup tutorials kick everyone else’s arse! She is too adorable.
10. Hastes Kitchen - This is Nic from pixiwoos husband and he is showing us all how to cook. I just love his approach to cooking really, all simple clean ingredients turned into an amazing dinner which you can do at home in a short period of time! He also taught me how to get my poached eggs perfect every time, love it.

I obviously love the Pixiwoo girls and also Claire Marshall but I always go to the above first to see any new videos or just to check out previous videos that I know I like.

Comment below and let me know who are your faves as I love peoples feedback so I can have a wee nosy :)

Good Things | Blackhead Exfoliator & Deep Pore Anti Blemish Lotion

Good Things Blackhead Exfoliator & Deep Pore Anti Blemish Lotion
Good Things: Blackhead Exfoliator & Deep Pore Anti Blemish Lotion
Hi guys,

Good Things Skincare is a brand I am slowly falling in love with due to their scent concoctions, natural ingredients and the way the products actually work for me. After trying the Manuka Honey Face Mask I really wanted to try other products from the range so bought myself Deep Pore Anti Blemish Lotion in Wild Strawberry & Fig which I use as a toner, and the Deep Cleaning Blackhead Exfoliator in Papaya and Liquorice which I blogged about recently in my mini haul post.

The range was founded by Alice Hart Davis who is a British Journalist and also the author of Be Beautiful: Every girls guide to hair, skin and make up and also 100 ways for every girls to look and feel fantastic.
She wanted to make a range which was gentle, simple and affordable so she came up with Good Things Skincare. The range has been specifically designed for younger skin and offers a wide selection of goodies to combat any problems such as cleansers, treatments, moisturisers and problem solvers.

Deep Pore Anti Blemish lotion in Wild Strawberry & Fig - Since the start of June I have been using the anti-blemish lotion which works perfectly for me. The smell makes it seem good enough to eat but I have been strong and only used it as a face toner! I have included this into my morning and night time skincare routine by soaking a cotton pad in the lotion and using in an upwards direction when cleaning my skin. Since using this I have really noticed a difference in my skin including the blackheads I have on my nose and the cysts on my jawline.

Deep Cleaning Blackhead Exfoliator in Papaya and Liquorice - Since I only bought the exfoliator 4 days ago I haven't really used this as much as I would have liked before reviewing but what you gonna do. Again with all Good Things products, the smell of this is just ah-maz-ing!! It smells so fruity that it almost doesn't seem true that it can be used to clean your face!
The main area of concern for me is my chin as I feel I get a lot of whiteheads and my obvious cyst problem when it’s that special time of the month so I have really enjoyed this product so far. I have been using this with my Olay Professional face brush at night and on its own in the morning and feel I am really getting a deep clean.

If you want to try any of the Good Things Skincare range then these can be purchased at Sainsbury’s or Boots which are carrying out their popular 3 for 2 offer at the moment.

If you have tried any Good Things products and either love them or hate them, leave me a comment letting me know what they are and your thoughts on them :)

Limecrime Lipstick Collection

Limecrime Lipstick Collection
My Collection of these delicious purple delights. Limecrime Lipsticks.
Hi guys

I have decided to show you my gorgeous Limecrime collection. If you dont know anything about Limecrime, they are a very popular make up brand in the US but have now branched out to stores in the UK, Australia and Thailand. They have a list of authentic merchandise sold in particular shops on their website which you can find here so please dont get caught up in the fake makeup industry as there are so many bad ingredients in those guys that could really harm you.

I first heard of Limecrime through Nicole Guerriero as she has an immense collection, one that I am very jealous of. They are a vegan and natural brand who do not test on animals.

In 2008 the brand was created by Doe Deere where they only stocked primers, eye shadows, brushes, and glitters but now they have branched out into nail polishes, eyeliners, Velvetines and lipsticks.

According to their website - "Say goodbye to sliding, fading and sheer-ness with Lime Crimes best-selling opaque lipsticks. Recklessly loaded with pigment for maximum impact, these beauties offer unparalleled coverage in a rainbow of statement-making shades. Crème formula is smooth, non-drying and lasts for hours. Each lipstick comes encased in the signature purple tube adorned with a sparkling unicorn"

The first thing that intrigued me was the packaging of the lipsticks, they are very unique with their bright purple and silver unicorn design...Who doesnt love unicorns? So after reading numerous reviews I decided to order one from the Love Make-Up website which stocks for the UK and was surprised at the £12.50 price tag! I actually thought they would be a lot more.

I went through each shade available on the website and finally I ordered Babette which is a pale orange/pink shade and also Glamour 101 which a beautiful rich red which oozes of old glamorous Hollywood. I knew I would get a lot of use out of these particular shades for day and night so was very happy with my purchase. The delivery charge was £3.50 which again, I thought was quite reasonable.

Limecrime Lipstick
This is the packaging that the Lipsticks arrive in.... Look at how pretty these are!

They were delivered between 2-3 days which was great! I was so excited to rip into the box and check out my new goodies (I have since binned the packaging so I will insert a pic below for you to see what they look like) that I think I was like a maniac clawing my way through the box. I wasn’t let down at all, they were beautiful sparkling purple capsules of deliciousness and the colours were absolutely beautiful, I knew I would get a lot of use out of these.

The lipsticks are beautiful. I wouldnt say they are my favourite as they are quite drying on the lips and feel quite stiff when applying if you know what I mean, the way Mac Ruby Woo sort of sticks to the lips when you apply it. After sampling the lipsticks, I was surprised as there was no bleeding or smearing. Babette is such a gorgeous shade but I felt it came off after one drink which was a little disappointing.
