Blogger Tag - An Impatient Scottish Girl

Hi guys,

If you haven't already guessed, todays post is another tag. I was tagged by the lovely Brenda over at Brenda Busy Bee so thank you very much.

1. What is your favourite beauty product?
I would have to say the Maybelline Falsies Mascara. I have been wearing this for as long as I can remember. I mean I swap it out with other brands but I always come back to this. I tend to have makeup free days but if I don’t want to look completely dead then I add a coat of mascara and I feel a little more alive.

2. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
Oh, I have so many places. I would love to go travelling round Vietnam & Cambodia. My absolute top spot has to be reserved for Santorini though, I remember seeing pictures of the caves and the water when I was younger and it’s always stuck in my mind so maybe Liam will take me away for my 30th birthday next year ha-ha! Doubt it but a girl can always dream. I would also like to do a road trip to round America but for now its Santorini.

3. What is your all-time favourite brand?
Oh Man! I would say Soap and Glory. They have makeup, skincare and the best bath products ever.

4. Do you collect anything, if so what is it?
I collect makeup. I know it goes out of date so anything that has pretty packaging, I keep on display in my second bedroom.

5. Early bird or night owl?
Early Bird, I am awake at 7am every morning. I head in for a shower, grab my breakfast and then head to college. On the weekend and days off I normally get up at 7.30am and head to the gym but I do stay up later when I know I am off. I like to have nights out, but I don’t do it very often as I am a homebody.

6. Tea or coffee?
I prefer coffee if truth be told but I get incredible heartburn. I now drink herbal teas but I miss my coffee.

7. What is your favourite TV show?
Why are these questions legal???? I have far too many. Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Sex and The City, Supernatural, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Orange Is The New Black, Once Upon A Time, Friends, Ghost Whisperer and Chicago Fire. I also love my trashy TV including The Hill and Geordie Shore.

8. If you could travel to any era what would it be?
I would say the 30s/40s as I loved the glamour of those days and I would have ran around this world bare foot until I met Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Bette Davis, James Dean, James Garner and Ava Gardener!

This Weeks Most Loved | Post #6

Robin Williams
Goodnight Chief

Hi guys, how are we all?

Its time again for another weekly loves post, but somehow it doesn’t feel appropriate considering we have lost a comedic genius. If you haven’t already heard, then the great Robin Williams sadly passed away. I have been far too upset to read too much into it and have instead, spent my days watching his films. I know you may think it’s a little extreme for me to feel like this considering I don’t know the guy but I have watched Robin Williams in movies for as long as I can remember and I feel as though I grew up with him in my life. I do understand suicide was an issue here, again, I don’t know too much but please, please, please speak to someone if you feel yourself going down this path. There are always people who will listen to you and try to help as much as they can. I know we all like to think it may come in the form of family or friends but sometimes it comes from a stranger on the other end of a phone or by any other means. I don’t want this post to get too deep as I know not everyone is here for that reason but please speak to someone instead of taking this route.

I haven't really been loving a lot this week to be fair as I said due to me lazing around watching movies all day but the things I have been reaching for when I’ve needed to get out my pit are some old products that I forgot I had to be honest. Let’s dive straight in shall we.

1. Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzer (£31) - This has been keeping me looking rather sun-kissed over the past week which has kept me very happy since it’s been very gloomy here in Glasgow. I have loved this for a very long time but as the same as most beauty bloggers i tend to move onto other products to test them out and forget about all my past greats. I love the subtle colour this gives to my face which doesn't make it look too "done up" especially if i want a natural finish with some concealer, bronzer, blusher, mascara and a tinted lip balm. In love...again!

2. Nail Polish Free Nails - My nails have been such a problem over the past couple of months so i decided to clear off the nail polish and just focus on getting my nails back to a normal state again. I have actually forgot how nice it is just to apply some hand & nail cream and leave them to breathe to be to be honest! If you have any suggestions on what can make my splitting nails come back to life please let me know in the comments below.

3. Hand Food by Soap & Glory (from £2.50) - Since I’ve kept the nail polish off i have been packing on the hand cream and the one I have been reaching for the most is obviously Hand Food. This has always been a trusty companion but i have noticed my hands looking ever so slightly better and they feel like a dream!

4. Anna Jones: A Modern Way to Eat - I bought this cookbook for my kindle and i swear it hasn’t left my kitchen! I have tried out a few of the recipes and i have to say i am pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food is. As I’ve said before i am really conscience of what I’m putting in my body now so i really like having meat free days or just having a vegetarian meal for dinner which doesn’t make me feel sluggish. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is already vegetarian or who would like to try some healthier and tastier veggie dishes as these are beautiful, i especially loved the avocado and zest of lemon spaghetti... mmmmhhmm!

5. A Lovely Side Project - Ever since i found Lauren on bloglovin i have been obsessing over her recipes. Every day for breakfast or lunch i have had one of her delicious juices which I’ve changed into a smoothie as i like them better but oh-my-gosh they are amazing. I would suggest heading over to her blog to check her out, she also blogs about beauty and fashion so she incorporates a lot into her posts.

6. Jack & Good Will Hunting - These are 2 of my all-time favourite films as they remind me of special times when i was younger so I wanted to include them in my weekly favourites. As I said, I have been watching Robin Williams’s movies again this week ever since i heard the devastating news.
If you haven’t seen either of these, then Jack is about a 10 year old boy who has an ageing disorder making him look 40 years old. This is a beautiful film, wasn't such a smash at the box office but I loved it. Good Will Hunting was written by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon which is about a young arrogant Boston man who is maths genius. This is a must see movie, all the actors are amazing in it but I especially love RW as you didn’t get to see that acting side of him very often.

Robin Williams was such a great actor and he will be missed dearly.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Goodnight Chief
Xx

Weekly Favourites | Post #3

Weekly Favourites #3
Hi guys,

Well that’s Liam and I moved into our new flat. I am loving it, it’s so quiet where we are and everyone is up so early in the morning walking dogs and going for runs so hopefully it will keep me motivated. I hated living in the city as its always so congested, everyone just sort of bops along and I hate the pollution. I know you get these problems everywhere but as least where I live now people bloody smile at you ha-ha.

Anyway, enough about me, this week is all about my Weekly Favourites.

1. Lush Bath Bombs - After moving house (this weeks most hated task) I have really needed to pamper myself as I had to do most of it myself due to Liam being away and everyone else I know were working. So I have been enjoying my lush bath bombs over the past couple of nights which have firmly relaxed me.

2. The Sopranos - Liam recently got this boxset from his dad so we decided to watch it from the beginning again and O.M.G it’s as good as I remember it. I actually love Tony Soprano :) if you love mobster movies then this is right up your alley.

3. Sanctuary Spa 5 minute Detox Mask - As I said I have moved house this week so I have been chilling out at night and you can’t have a pamper session without a face mask. I am loving this mask at the moment, so much so that I haven’t used my Good Things Manuka Honey mask at all this week. I will do a full review on this bad boy at the end of the month but if I’m loving it after 2 weeks I will probably love it even more at the end of July.

4. Wotsits - I have taken a real hankering for Wotsits over the past week. Nothing else to really say on the matter apart from these are the best cheesy crisps out.

I haven’t really had time to do make up or anything so I don’t have any make up products to share with you guys, sorry!

What have you been loving this week? Let me know in the comments below.

Weekly Favourites | Post #2

Hi guys,

This is my second instalment of my most loved things of the week, you can find my first one here. I really like these posts but as I said in my first one I will see how it goes with you guys and if it is a success then I will keep it up, if not, I will stick to monthly favourites (when I remember to do them ha-ha)

1. Penny Dreadful - I have been loving this show, so much so that I totally gorged on the full 8 episodes that were available on demand in one sitting!! I have found my Josh Hartnett crush again after he disappeared for a while. I love supernatural TV shows, books and movies so I knew I would love this. Have a look and let me know if you have seen it or want to see it. This is quite dark, it’s not your typical teen drama, something I adore so if you like dark gritty shows, this is for you.

2. The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan - I am still ploughing through this book, it is so long! But I am loving it, my mum has been eyeing it up too after I recommended it to her so I may have to buy it for her birthday as an extra gift.

3. Water - This is a bit random but I have been drinking 3 litres of water a day for the past week and been blooming weeing for Scotland. It’s ridiculous!! For anyone who doesn’t know about the benefits of water, please switch out a few glasses of fizzy juice, tea and coffee for water and you will see a huge difference. I noticed that my lower back pain went away, my skin looked clearer and obviously some of my weight loss can be attributed to drinking more water too.

4. Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Elusive - This is absolutely beautiful, it is the perfect shade for me, and it’s not bubble-gum pink, nor is it too dark or too light it is just right. I applied this to my lips at 10am on Monday and then had lunch with my mum and it was still on my lips. Super impressed so far.

Comment below and let me know what your weekly favourites are or if you have tried or seen anything I have been loving.

Weekly Favourites | Post #1

Chanel
Weekly Favourites #1

Morning everyone.

This is my first blog post featuring my weekly favourites. This wont be all about beauty as I find that a bit boring, so I decided to talk about all of my favourites including movies, books, recipes, makeup, skincare etc. I will see how this goes for a couple of weeks before deciding if its worthwhile or not, but here are this weeks.

1. Friends (£43) - I dug out the old box set this week which has been collecting dust in my cupboard and fell back in love with it. Obviously, you’re never very far from a Friends episode on TV as they are repeated on a constant loop but I feel the editing on the TV version is abysmal. It cuts out most of the jokes and you end up listening to the audience laughing but you never see what actually happened so the box set is the only acceptable option for me. Sort it out editors!! Anyway, this is a must watch show, I don’t know anyone who hates it or doesn’t have a Friends reference in every life situations so obviously this was gonna be my number 1 this week.

2. The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan (from 1p) – I am absolutely loving this book and cannot wait for the TV series to begin filming so I can compare. If you are sick of tween vampire movies/tv shows then this is for you, there is no sparkle or ridiculous romances in sight. Its gritty, scary and honestly keeps me coming back for more.

3. More Zoella - I have literally watched about 80 videos from Zoellas vlog channel this week and I’m not even ashamed. I think she is one of the sweetest girls online at the moment and she makes you feel like part of her life. I especially love when her boyfriend, Alfie, has to end her vlogs when she has fallen asleep.

4. Birthday celebrations - As you it was my birthday dinner last night with my family and I have to say it was one of my favourites ever. It was just a chilled night, lots of laughing, lots of family members that I haven’t seen for a while and my favourite person ever, my 2 1/2 year old niece (just thinking about her makes me want a hug from her, was there too. I absolutely adore her and she definitely made the night with her crazy antics.

5. Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Highlighter in 01 (£27) - This baby is just *angels sing* I have had this highlighter for some time and it just doesn’t seem to be going down any. I love the gorgeous glow it gives my skin but in a not so obvious kind of a way. I have been wearing this all week when I have been out and about and will continue to do so as I love the subtle glow on my cheeks.

6. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy (£26) - This is just a delicious sheer pinky nude colour. I have been rocking this all week as well as it is a new purchase so I wanted to wear the hell out of it and give a decent review on it.
