Hi guys,

I heard about Bomb Cosmetics through Twitter and was keen to try some of their products. They have everything from Candles, Home Fragrances, Soaps and Bath Products, what a selection. I stuck to bath products as I wanted to sample something other than Lush. Since I am still in the Christmas mood, I picked up a lot of Christmas products in their sale. The ones I picked up were Chilly Millie Bath Blaster (£1.15) Ginger Bath Blaster (£1.15) Stocking Fizzer Blaster (£1.15) The Glitterati Bath Creamer (£1.05) and the Butter Blizzard Creamer (£1.05)

When the box arrived I could smell the products through all of the packaging and I honestly nearly ripped the box apart to get in there pronto. Once I was in, it was like Santas Grotto. I was keep to run a bath and try them out immediately. I threw in Chilly Millie first. This was like walking into a winter wonderland when it finally dissolved. The smell was very pungent. The only issue I had was the fact the nose, mouth and eyes didn’t dissolve, so I scooped them back out of the bath water. As you can imagine, I had a relaxing time but when I was trying to get myself out I ended up crying with laughter as I kept sliding all over the place ha-ha so be careful if you buy this as the water is very soft and you may fall.

I've also used up the Butter Blizzard Creamer which smells exactly like Christmas due to the bergamot ginger and apple scent. It is spicy but refreshing at the same time. It dissolved very quickly but I felt like a waxy coat on my skin when I dried myself. I didn’t like that at all. I suppose it was meant to leave your skin feeling moisturised but it felt horrible, so much so that I had to have a shower to remove it from my body. The same thing happened with Glitterati. I also hated the fact that I had red glitter all over my bathroom, every product in my bathroom, my whole body, hair, towels and bed! It was not pleasant at all.

Stocking Filler and Ginger Bath Blaster were nice. The scent from each of them were very strong but they fizzled out pretty quickly. My skin felt really soft when I came out of the bath so I can’t complain too much about these ones.

Hated the creamers, liked the blasters and loved Chilly Millie the best.

Maybelline Color Elixir | Petal Plush

Maybelline Color Elixir Petal Plush

Maybelline Color Elixir

Maybelline Petal Plush Swatch

Hey guys,

I picked up this Maybelline Color Elixir (£6.99) in my recent haul and have been wearing it every day since. The colour I picked was Petal Plush which is a light pink colour, making it perfect for everyday use when I pair it with my Mac Honeylove Lipstick (£15)

Maybelline have promised a moisturising formula with the feel of a lip balm that gives a gorgeous sheen to the lips whilst keeping them nourished. I can wholeheartedly agree with this. The gloss itself feels like nothing I have tried before, it is so soft and velvety that it feels like a lip butter but it has great pigmentation and doesn't feel sticky on the lips when applied. The doe foot applicator wand is also a winner as it disperses the perfect amount of product. There is a certain smell from this elixir, I can’t say I’m mad about it, it smells horrible and chemical. It doesn’t put me off using the gloss but I could do without it to be honest. I will 100% be picking up more of these in the near future as the colour selection looks fab and  Boots have a Buy 1 get 1 half price offer so it would be rude not to.

Have you tried these Lip Elixirs?
What did you think of them?

Lets Talk Brows, Shall We?

Brows - Beauty Talk With Lauren

Hi guys,

Brows have been a major talking point for the last couple of years and I am no stranger to trying out the numerous brow products out there at the moment. Anastasia Beverly Hills has really took the beauty world by storm with her Brow Wiz (£16) and Dipbrow Pomade (£15). I have yet to try the brow wiz but I wasn’t overly impressed with the Dipbrow Pomade as it felt it dispersed too much product and made my brows look a little worse for wear.

Urban Decay Naked 2

Brow Products

This post isn’t about ABH but rather about how I fill my brows and keep them looking perfect all day. The first thing I do is remove any stray hairs with my tweezers. I normally have my brows threaded and that keeps them in check for about three weeks but I normally have one or two hairs come back so I pluck them out. I then take the pencil side of my Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil (£10) and put a firm line along the bottom of my brows. I blend this upwards using a spoolie so diffuse the product and to take away the harsh line while keeping the underneath look crisp. This is a great dupe for the ABH Brow Wiz if you can’t justify spending £15 on a brow product. I then take the shade tease from my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (£37). This looks very light but it does on a lot darker and helps to fill in the middle of my brows without looking harsh. I then take my spoolie again and diffuse the product. I don’t like my brows to be too dark, even though I have dark hair, I stick to the rule of going two shades lighter than my hair colour. If my arch looks a little meh, I go back in with the S & G pencil and carve that out and then blend it downwards. To set everything in place I run the Ardell Brow Sculpting Gel in Light Brown (£3.89) through them and hey presto I have perfect brows.

If I am going on a night out, I will run some concealer round my eyebrows to carve out the shape a little more and to make them look cleaner. I then add a little highlighter on the brow bone to make my eyes stand out. I normally use Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Highlighter (£24) or Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle (£23) and that's them finished! I am pretty happy with my brows at the moment but I am sure I will find another perfect way when I get bored ha!

Brow Products

If you wanted to try out any other products I would suggest Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil (£2.99) which has a little comb on it to comb out the product or the Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift (£22.50) which also has a comb and an angled edge to really get in there and sculpt out the perfect brow. I also love the Rimmel Brow This Way Styling Gel (£3.99) in Mid Brown to keep my brows in place. This disperses a good amount of colour on the brow and I find this is great when I am in a rush.

A Naughty Little Haul

A Naughty Little Haul

Hello guys,

I was a little naughty again. Oops. I was going through the Debenhams website and a few things caught my eye so I bought them. This then escalated onto Boots and Burberry. Again, Oops. I have to say, I am very pleased with these purchases and I cannot wait to try them out and give my thought on these products.

MAC Honeylove

I wanted a new lipstick and where better to go than MAC, they have every colour known to man and they are a tried and tested brand for me. The colour I chose was Honeylove which is a gorgeous light honey beige tone with a hint of rose through it. As it’s a matte shade it will last a while on my lips before I need to reapply again.

MAC Prep and Prime Highlighter

After hearing my favourite YouTuber, Nicole Guerriero drone on about this, I decided I needed it. I picked it up in the shade Light Boost which will highlight the high points of my face.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

After finishing my deluxe sample from the Naked on the Run Palette, I decided to buy a full sized one. This is one of the best high end mascaras I have ever used. It creates the look of false lashes without the hassle of applying those slippery little buggers.

Burberry Effortless Liquid Eyeliner

After I done the rounds in Debenhams I decided to pick up this eyeliner in Jet Black. I have been lusting after it for months now so I am glad I have it in my collection.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

I am a huge Maybelline mascara lover so when I found this new release, I needed it immediately. This is supposed to give the look of fuller, longer lashes so I am keen to see if that’s true and if it can rival the UD Perversion Mascara.

Maybelline Color Elixir

The last thing I picked up was the Maybelline Color Elixir in Petal Plush which is a lovely pink shade. The formula of this is to die for! It is so creamy and glides on my lips like butter. I will put together a full review of this and will let you know my thoughts on it in more detail.

That’s all I picked up. I have been really bad this month but now I have to start saving for upcoming birthdays including Liam’s 30th so I need to put a spending ban on myself. I hope you all have a fab day guys and I will speak to you soon.

Lush | Valentine`s Day Range

Lush Valentine Range

Hi guys,

I have been neglecting my blog for the past couple of weeks due to an obscene amount of college work but I thought I would take some time away from the books and hit you up with a very romantic post featuring the new Lush Valentine's Range. I love Lush when it comes to special holidays as they are always very creative and bring us some amazing offerings in the way of bath products.

Both Liam and I made a pact when we first met that we wouldn’t bother with the whole gift giving prospect of Valentine’s Day. We decided to go for a meal instead or cook a romantic dinner in the house which is what we have done for the past six years. But I do like to treat myself ha-ha, hence this large Lush haul.

Prince Charming Shower Gel

The first thing I added to my basket was this Prince Charming Shower Gel (from £4.75). This has a whopping 24 ingredients including grapefruit, marshmallow root, pomegranate and vanilla so you can only imagine how wonderful the scent is. It kind of reminds me of candy floss and Turkish delight in a weird way but I absolutely love it. This left my skin feeling soft, very clean and smelling like a total dream. Highly recommended!

Love Locket Bath Bomb

I couldn’t buy this range and miss out the most special bath bomb of all. Love Locket (£6.95) is the bath bomb of all bath bombs. It is mammoth in size, and includes two bath bombs. One is nestled inside and only pops out when the outer shell dissolves in the water. The main scents are Vanilla and Jasmine (floral and seductive) so you can only imagine the relaxation you will feel. Once dissolved this leaves edible red hearts and pink confetti in your tub. How romantic. If you have a large tub, I would suggest throwing this in and having a bath with your other half. It may lead to a very romantic night indeed.

Heart Throb Bubble Bar

I loved the look of the Heart Throb Bubble Bar (£3.65) as soon as I saw this. It has a staggering 28 ingredients including Ylang Ylang, Vanilla, Frangipani, Sicilian Lemon Oil and Shea Butter to make you feel silky soft. Once it’s crumbled into your bath, it leaves the most gorgeous red shade with some gold glitter going through the water.

Floating Flower Bath Bomb

This is my favourite scented bath product from the range, its called Floating Flower Bath Bomb (£3.50) and looks incredible when it floats on top of the bath water. It is heavily scented and boasts 22 ingredients including Ylang Ylang, Cyprus Oil (very calming) Jasmine and Palmarosa oil.

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar

Come on now. Everyone needs something Unicorn in their house so it was only natural that I bought this gorgeous Unicorn Horn (£3.25). This was the second thing added to my basket and I am so glad I bought it as its huge and smells unbelievable. This is very heavy on the Lavender which makes it perfect for a night time bath where it will relax you and help you sleep later in the night. It also contains Ylang Ylang and Neroil Oil so you will probably fall asleep in the tub or pass out in the hall ha-ha.  I love the bubbles it creates and the subtle colour of the bath water but my favourite part is the fact that I had a lot of baths with this one product.

Lonely Heart Bubble Bar

The last item is the Lonely Heart Bubble Bar (£3.50). I didn’t think I would like this as glitter normally puts me off as it gets everywhere but everything else about this bubble bar made it the perfect bath time product. It contains my absolute favourite Bergamot Oil as well as Lemongrass, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine. The glitter wasn’t so bad, it did leave its mark on my skin and it was obviously all over my towel when I dried myself but I wasn’t mad at it.

There are a few other items in the range including soaps, lip scrubs etc. but I chose what I knew I would love and I have to say I have not been disappointed. As you can see from the prices, they are a little more expensive than their regular products but that goes with the territory I’m afraid when it comes to special days of the year.
