Beauty Trend | Multi Masking

Multi Masking

Hi guys,

If you are like me and have different skin types on different parts of your face then you want to focus specific products on those areas. There is no point in applying a mask for oily skin to your dry patches is there? I have been doing this for a couple of years but it’s only recently that I have seen more people discussing it through social media and blogs so I thought I would let you all know my favourite combos.

Nip and Fab Dragon Blood

Nip & Fab Dragons Blood Mask and Lush Cupcake

I did run out of Cupcake, so I need to pick up a new one. This is highly absorbent, it works well at removing excess sebum, dirt and any impurities whereas the Dragon’s Blood adds intense moisture back into the skin. I apply cupcake all through my tzone area and really focus on my nasal and chin area as these are the parts of my face that have the most breakouts. Once this is sitting where I want it, I go in with my dragons blood mask and apply to my cheek, temples and outer parts of my face. I always find my cheeks and top of my forehead gets dry all the time so this mask is perfect at adding hydration back into the skin. I leave these on for a good 20 minutes before removing. My skin always feels amazing after using the together.

Lush Face Masks

Mask of Magnaminty and The Sacred Truth

Magnaminty will always be one of my favourite masks as it works so well at treating my skin and it smells pretty damn good too! I use this in my tzone area to decongest it and Sacred Truth (£6.50) on cheeks, outer shell of my face and temples. As with the first combo, I leave this on for 20 minutes before removing. My oily areas are always 100% better when I use MoM as it goes straight to work; the seeds in it remove dead skin and leave my skin glowing.

Una Brennan and Sanctuary Spa

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask and Una Brennan Rose Intense Moisture Mask
SS Thermal Detox Mask is a bit of a cult product. Ever since Lily Pebbles rated it, the whole beauty blogging world seemed to have it in their skincare stash, I was no exception. This is great for anyone who only has a couple of minutes but if you can use it as a combo and leave it on for a full 20 minutes it would be a lot better. The detox mask goes straight on my tzone area but I mostly focus this on my chin area as it’s the most problematic. The Una Brennan Mask is made of dreams I tell you, this mask is super creamy and as soon as I put it on my face I can already feel it working! Again, I leave these on for 20 minutes before removing.

These are my favourite combos. I have repurchased these masks over and over again and have been multi masking with them for a while now. If you have different skin types, please try this out to see a huge improvement with your skin.

Skinny Coffee Club | 14 Day Body Transformation

Skinny Coffee Club | 14 Day Body Transformation

Skinny Coffee Club

14 Day Body Transformation

Hi guys,

If you have been following me on Instagram then you would have probably seen my posts regarding Skinny Coffee Club. If not, whats the hold up? Get over there and have a gander haha. Anyway, I was kindly sent the 14 Day Body Transformation Coffee* (£19.99) for review and I have no problem telling you, after my Slendertoxtea experience I was a little apprehensive about this. I had flash backs to unbelievable cramping and living in my toilet for 2 weeks :( but this was, thankfully, different.

Skinny Coffee Club has created a coffee blend to aid weight loss and detoxification; it is also gluten free so anyone who is intolerant can have a go too. The coffee itself is a green powder which has a definite coffee aroma, it’s not strong but it’s recognisable. What I liked about this detox was the fact that it came with an eating and exercise plan which helps you choose healthier options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I didn’t stick to the plans to be honest as I dont like following a guide, I like to do my own thing and I also like to do my own exercises. I hate sticking to a plan as I might not feel like going a swim in the pissing rain, I might choose to go to the gym instead so do your own thing but follow the guidelines.

I drank this first thing in the morning as it does contain caffeine (so maybe not good for people with anxiety). I added one teaspoon of the coffee mix into a stove top coffee maker (you can use a French Press too) and left to infuse for 5 minutes. You don’t want to add the coffee mixture straight into a cup and add boiled water, even though this is a finely milled powder, there are small lumps within the powder and it makes it quite undrinkable. Once the coffee was brewed, I added some maple syrup to sweeten it up as I don’t like coffee straight up, I need some sweetness in my life but as long as it’s a healthier alternative to sugar then you will be all good! You can also add milk but try and stick to non-dairy milks such as coconut, almond and hazelnut if you can. The taste of the coffee is quite subtle, well for my palette anyway, I love my coffee strong but I know a lot of people don't so this might be perfect for you.

It seems I had nothing to worry about, with regards to it being the same as Slendertoxtea as there was no cramping, no side effects, no pain and certainly no turning myself inside out in the bathroom! Phew! I loved using this and would go as far as saying that I would replace my morning coffee with this. It gave me added energy, obviously due to the caffeine but I liked the taste of it and I liked the lack of bloating I felt every day. If I had any criticism, then it would be that it wasn't strong enough for my tastebuds but you can't please everyone can you?

I didn’t notice a huge amount of weight loss to be honest, but my stomach was a lot flatter and the bloating I normally feel was gone. As I said, I would add this into my daily routine in place of my normal drink. If you want to beat the bloat and have a nice flat tummy for a holiday then I would seriously suggest picking up the 14 Body Transformation (£19.99) pack to help. Skinny Coffee Club offer free shipping worldwide with parcels being delivered between 1-7 days. As always, even though I was sent this for review, my opinion is 100% honest. Please see full disclaimer here.

Losing Weight with Thinking Slimmer

Losing Weight with Thinking Slimmer

Hi guys,

If you have seen my recent tweets then you will know that I have been talking about Thinking Slimmer*. As you know, I had a bit of a meltdown with regards to my weight recently as I was so unhappy about my appearance so when I was asked to become part of a focus group dealing with people who have an unhealthy diet consisting of sugar and who also wanted to lose weight, I jumped at the chance.

The slimpods I chose were Beat That Sweet Tooth and Drop Two Dress Sizes which are MP3 recordings, they also offer them in CD format but I was happy with MP3 as I could pop them on my phone, laptop and also kindle. You can also download from the iTunes Store if you would rather them in an app version. The slimpods are clinically proven to help you make changes from the inside out and re-tune your mind so you gain control over food. They promise to help you make healthier food choices, help you to only eat when you’re hungry, help you make smaller portions, cut out the junk food and lose between 10lbs & 10 stone. Each track lasts around ten minutes and is the most relaxing thing I have ever heard, think hypnosis and you are on the right track.

On each slimpod there are three tracks, an intro, the actual track and a bonus track (limited time only). I listened to the intro track once and then moved straight onto the others. These tracks have to be listened to at least once a day for 21 days. I normally set aside 20 minutes in the morning to listen to the two tracks from one slimpod and then the other slimpod before bed. You don’t have to do that, you can listen to track one from each pod every night for three weeks and then move onto the bonus tracks for a further three weeks but I like to cram them all in on one day as I feel better doing it this way.

I used to believe that this kind of thing was nonsense and wouldn’t work at all but I was proven wrong! During the sessions you have to imagine what you want to look like and give your subconscious a picture of yourself, the clearer the image the better the result, so I tend to look at old pictures of myself to get a good image in my head and then lie down and listen to the slimpods.

After listening to this for 21 days I am shocked at how well it has worked. Please keep in mind that if I didn’t like it or it didn’t work then I would have no problems telling you the reasons why but for me this has been a God send! My brain has been totally retrained. Obviously I have a long way to go with this but, for anyone who knows me will know that I could devour a whole box of chocolates, half a cake, numerous packets of crisps, two or three packs of biscuits and anything else I can get my chunky hands on throughout the course of a week without even blinking and if I had to choose between a McDonald's and a salad I would always choose the McDonald's but after 21 days of listening to my slimpods I have completely cut down my intake of sugar and dropped a dress size!!!!  I actually tried a Tunnocks Teacake a week ago as they are my favourite thing to eat, I used to eat a full pack of six whilst watching a DVD with Liam along with crisps and sweets but after one bite I couldn't believe how sweet it tasted! I usually want more but I stopped myself.

During my mums birthday last month, the family went to a restaurant to celebrate, the first thing I normally do is check the desserts menu to see how I am going to round off my dinner but it wasn’t until the next day that I noticed I didn’t have a dessert but better than that, I didn’t even look at the dessert section *shocked emoji* I also had a large healthy salad that was filled with all kinds of things and I was surprised that I didn't feel hungry afterwards. My overall eating plan has actually changed too as I have cut all snacking without noticing it, it was actually Liam who pointed that out to me. I used to eat three meals a day with four different snacks which probably consisted of a chocolate bar, ryvitas and toppings, yoghurt and maybe a packet of crisps later on in the day but I have been happy enough with three meals a day and haven’t gone to bed hungry or lethargic.

If I can carry on like this and listen to these slimpods at least once a day then I think that it will not only help me lose weight but it will help me change my attitudes to food and help me maintain the weight loss. To say these slimpods have already changed me in such a short space of time is not enough praise! I adore using them and will continue to do so until I feel I have totally changed.

Each slimpod is £29.99 and if you are adamant to help yourself then I would suggest buying ASAP! They have something for everyone including; Cut down on AlcoholTake the Chocoholic CureLose Your Love Handles and Drop Two Jeans Sizes. They also have a Confidence Booster too for anyone who struggles with this.

Even though I was sent these Slimpods for review, my thoughts and opinions are 100% honest. I would not feature a product like this on my blog if I did not truly believe in it. This is a tremendous product and I hope to see the results I want at the end of the six week trial. Please give them a follow on Twitter too guys.

Lush Skincare | The Sacred Truth

Lush The Sacred Truth

The Sacred Truth

Facemask

Hi my loves,

How are we all today? As the weather has been rubbish here in Glasgow, I have been using my facemasks the same as I would in the winter as my skin has felt the brunt of the harsh wind and rain. The mask I have been reaching for the most is The Sacred Truth (£6.50) which helps to revive the complexion and prevent aging.

There is a long list of gorgeous ingredients that have been proven to help the skin such as honey, yoghurt, coconut oil, green tea, ginseng and bee pollen. The smell is a little funny, I’m not too sure I like it all that much but I do love how soft the mask feels when layering on my skin. This goes on perfectly, and because I leave it in the fridge, it instantly cools my face if I have had a particularly bad day due to the weather. It doesn’t dry down like a clay mask would so no tightness at all.

As with most masks, this should be left on for 10-15 minutes but I never remember and end up taking it off with a wet face cloth after 20-30 minutes. The Sacred Truth leaves my skin super soft, completely nourished and glowing, something that it’s in need of after this pathetic summer!

Have you tried this mask yet?

Bloggers | The Perfect Apps

Blogger Apps

Hi guys,

As you know, apps are a much needed tool for blogging. It helps you to keep up to date, helps you to stay on Instagram for an unmentionable amount of time per day and also helps you to get the information you need in an instant. There are so many apps now but these are the ones I find work best for me.

Social Media Apps:
First things first, social media is the most important thing for any blogger. It’s a great way to get your posts the recognition they deserve and it’s a great way to have a nosy and keep in touch with fellow bloggers.

Bloglovin:
This is a great app for checking out other blogs, it’s kind of like Facebook in the sense that it has a newsfeed but it’s filled with all of your favourite bloggers and it kills time if you are stuck in traffic or have a long commute.

Google Analytics:
I love this app; it’s a great way of keeping on top of your blogs statistics. I love being able to see how many people are on my blog at any given time using the Real Time Audience.

Hootesuite or Buffer:
If you know you are going to be out all day and don’t have time to keep on top of your social media then schedule some tweets and Facebook messages using this app. These are both super easy to use and you can choose to schedule manually or automatically. It will also add pictures and emojis to jazz up your tweets. Buffer only allows a certain number of tweets per day, when you exceed that, they ask you to pay. I tend to use Hootesuite if I go on holiday as it means I can schedule tweets for the whole time I am away without an added cost.

CoPromote:
I have been using this recently as it’s a great way for others to see your blog posts and for them to share it. I also love the variety of posts they have available, it has shown me some great content.

Email App:
I just like to keep my emails handy so I have an app that keeps everything neat and tidy.

Blogger:
This is not an app for writing full posts as its rubbish when you need to edit anything but I use it for draft posts or for any ideas that spring into my head when I am out and about. I use the blogger platform for my blog but if you are on WordPress or any other platforms then I would suggest checking the app store to see if they have one available.

Facetune:
I use facetune to smooth out my photos if they are looking little grainy thanks to my phone (I know I need to invest in a camera pronto!)

Camera+:
This is another picture app that’s great when adding vibrancy back into photos. I find that when I take pictures, the original colour seems a bit washed out so I always use this to help it out a little. This is also great for cropping and adding frames when you want to share straight to Instagram. My favourite photo editing app ever!

Shopping Apps:
I love my favourite shops in app form as its gives me some inspiration when I’m bored. I can just head on over to Boots, Debenhams, Asos etc. to see what they have on offer. This may not be good for impulsive buyers but I find it useful when I want to see what is a best seller, new product or something that has a cult following and then I purchase and see what I think of it.

This is all of my best apps that I use, I can’t see any others that I use anywhere near as much unless it’s for personal business but there are the apps that get used numerous times a day for my blog.

What are your favourite apps for blogging?
What would you recommend I try?
